Trans Mountain owns Canada’s pipeline system used for moving hydrocarbons to the west coast of British Columbia.
Currently, Trans Mountain is involved in an expansion project that will more than double the current capacity of the pipeline when completed.
This expansion project is expected to be completed by the end of 2022. The expansion will help oil and gas companies in Alberta to sell hydrocarbons to international markets and not just US.
There are about a dozen of oil and gas producers already commited to using the new pipeline when it becomes operational.
The original branch of Trans Mountain Pipeline going to the West Coast was built in 1953.
